“One generation shall praise thy works to another,
and shall declare thy mighty acts.” Ps. 125
Celebrating the Cathedral
In 1825, the foundation stone was laid for the church that would become the St. George’s Cathedral we know today. Two centuries later, we celebrate not simply the construction of a remarkable stone building, but the generations of people who have gathered within these walls to worship, to mark life’s milestones, to serve the community, and to proclaim the Gospel. Through additions, changes, and even fire, this place has continued to be a spiritual home in the heart of Kingston. As we mark 200 years since construction began, we give thanks for those who built before us, celebrate the living community of St. George’s today, and look with hope toward the generations yet to come.
