About the Tea Room

Situated in the downtown core of Kingston, Ontario, we have come to realize that our Cathedral has the ability to fill a gap in supporting our newcomer and aging population. Under the Dome Tea Room seeks to offer an inclusive, accessible, and free space for people to get together and build connections.

On occasion, there will be special events, including public lectures, and workshops on topics such as health care and technology. It matters not who you are, what your faith background is, or whether you are of any faith! You are welcome in this place. We hope to see you!

Under the Dome Speaker Series
NEXT EVENT: May 26, 10:30am

Father Gerry Moore, together with Sarah Reid and Heather Jackson of James Reid Funeral Home offer The Last Gift: Preparing for Death, Providing for Loved Ones. They will share practical guidance to help you prepare the details your loved ones will need to manage at the time of your passing, offering peace of mind now and easing their burden later. Think of it as one last gift. Do plan to join us!

A Cathedral for All

Throughout history, cathedrals have served as more than places of worship; they have been central gathering spaces where communities come together to share, reflect, and celebrate. These awe-inspiring structures, rich in history and spirituality, offer sanctuary not just for prayer but for connection.

In this spirit, the Under the Dome Tea Room invites the community to gather beneath the grand dome of St. George’s Cathedral, where tradition meets hospitality. Whether it's sharing stories over a warm cup of tea or hosting conversations on art, faith, and social justice, the tea room reimagines the cathedral's role as a hub for community life in the downtown core. It's a space where people of all backgrounds can meet, connect, and find inspiration—much like the cathedrals of old that brought cities to life through shared experiences and dialogue. Here, under the dome, we rekindle that legacy of convening.

It's not church. No sermons. No praying. No hymns. And yet, it's all church! We are thrilled to offer this ministry to the greater Kingston community. No implications. Come and be you. We'd love to meet you!
