Staffing Update: Office Administrator
Our Office Administrator, Ann Wilkinson, has written to say that she intends to resign effective Friday, September 4, 2026. She says that:
"I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have served the Cathedral community, the clergy, and the parish during my tenure. I deeply value the skills I have developed and the supportive relationships I have formed with the staff and congregation."
Ann has not only been a dedicated and committed member of our staff but also been the warm and welcoming person greeting all who pass by the office. We will miss her very much, but I know that the congregation joins Dean Doug and the Wardens in wishing her good health and every happiness as she begins this next chapter.
The Wardens will be hosting a farewell lunch for Ann on her last day but please consider stopping by the office with your personal best wishes.
Jen Carey, Deputy Warden
Staffing Update: Cathedral Custodian
After 14 wonderful years as the custodian for St George's Cathedral the time has come for me to say good bye. I had hoped to stay on until I turned 70 but unfortunately my health has made the decision for me. My last day is September 29th 2026, which also happens to be my 68th birthday so it feels like this chapter is ending and a new chapter is beginning.
I am so grateful for the opportunity I was given and for the kindness the friendships and support I have received from everyone throughout the years. To Dean Doug, Margaret, Ann, the flower guild, the wardens, the staff, the volunteers, the congregation and everyone who has crossed my path, thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Leaving is much harder than I ever could imagine. St.George's has been so much more than a place where I worked, it became a very special part of my life and caring for this beautiful Cathedral was something I took great pride and passion in every single day.
While I am very sad to leave I will always be grateful for the 14 years at St George's Cathedral and for the wonderful people who made those years so special. I will miss you all and miss this place more than words can say.
With heartfelt thanks and warmest wishes,
Brian English, Custodian
The Wardens are developing an interim plan to support our ongoing ministries and the day-to-day care of our facilities. More information will be forthcoming here on our website and in the weekly newsletter.
