History and Tour of the Cathedral

Tuesday, September 23: 10:30am-12pm

The Under the Dome Tea Room is delighted to be hosting the Cathedral's resident historian Peter Gower for an in-depth, interactive history lesson and tour of the Cathedral. Even if you're familiar with the building, there's certainly something you don't know! Donations gratefully accepted. Tea, coffee and an array of treats will be on offer.

 

Opus8 in Concert

Friday, September 26: 7pm (pay-what-you-can admission)

One of Toronto's finest choral ensembles comes to Kingston to present a concert featuring music from their recent Canadian Sacred Music album, plus some a capella and jazz favourites. A licensed reception follows! Silly and serious, sublime and audacious, Opus 8’s vision is an ambitious and compelling venture into spreading their love of music-making at an internationally high standard. Community Workshop: Exploring Elder Fraud

Saturday, September 27: 10am-12pm

The Cathedral’s community workshop series returns this fall with Kingston Police Department detective Carolyn Gauthier speaking about Elder Fraud. Perhaps you or someone you know has been a target of such a thing. All are welcome to join us. Please note that this event will be held in the Cathedral’s Great Hall – enter off Wellington Street. Donations gratefully received. Tea and coffee will be served.

 

Property Redevelopment Meeting

Sunday, September 28: 11:45am

Join us for an important update from the Property Redevelopment Committee! We will learn about work done to date and be provided with an overview of next steps. An important day in the life of this community.

 

 

Choral Evensong

Wednesday, October 1: 7pm

The Cathedral Choir’s twice-monthly services of Choral Evensong return after summer break. This service, largely led by the choir, offers the perfect opportunity to pause for prayer at the midpoint of the week. Offered on the first and third Wednesday of each month.

 

A Night at the Dragon’s Lair Pub: A Fundraiser for Cathedral Music

Saturday, October 4: 5pm (ticketed event)

Come on down to the Dragon's Lair Pub (i.e. The Great Hall) as we gather for a hearty meal to support the Cathedral's expanding music program! Fish and chips, a licensed cash bar, and great music will make this an evening you won't want to miss. Advance tickets ($25/$10) are required and are available in the Cathedral Office (e-transfer/card) or from choir members (cash/cheque). The Cathedral's speakeasy is open one night only - we hope to see you!

 

Choral Eucharist with the Blessing of the Animals

Sunday, October 5: 10am

All critters and their caretakers are invited to join us for a special celebration of the Holy Eucharist as we observe the Feast of St Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals and the environment. During this Holy Eucharist, pets (or photos of them) will be blessed by the clergy. Please ensure that dogs remain leashed at all times.
